Flying from Seoul to Madrid has never been easier, thanks to Korean Air’s direct service KE913. I recently took this flight in economy class during the winter season, departing from Incheon International Airport (ICN) and arriving at Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD). Operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, the flight took approximately 14 hours and offered a convenient and comfortable option for travelers heading to Spain from Korea.

The check-in process at Incheon was smooth and efficient. Korean Air allows one checked bag of up to 23 kg for economy class passengers, which was more than enough for my winter travel needs. I also appreciated how the staff members were friendly and professional, making the entire boarding process feel seamless and stress-free. Boarding began on time, and the flight took off as scheduled.

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner is known for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort on long-haul flights. Its cabin pressure is set lower than older aircraft models, which helps reduce fatigue and jet lag. The large windows with adjustable tint, improved humidity levels, and quieter engines all contributed to a more relaxing flying experience. Even in economy class, the flight felt smoother and less exhausting thanks to the Dreamliner’s advanced technology.

Once on board, I found the modern interior of the cabin inviting. The economy seats had decent legroom and came equipped with a blanket, pillow, and adjustable headrest. Each seat had its own personal entertainment screen with USB charging ports. The in-flight entertainment selection was impressive, with a wide variety of Korean and international movies, TV shows, and music.

The in-flight meals were a pleasant surprise. Shortly after takeoff, we were served a comforting bowl of soybean paste rice (된장덮밥/doenjang-deopbap), which came with vegetables, soup, and a small side dish. Before landing, a soy sauce chicken galbi (간장닭갈비/ganjang dak-galbi) set meal was served, offering a well-balanced and flavorful Korean dish. Between meals, a light sandwich was handed out as a snack, which helped break up the long flying hours nicely.
The cabin crew was attentive and polite throughout the flight, promptly responding to any requests. The restrooms were kept clean during the entire trip, and small touches like water service and dimmed lighting during rest hours made the journey feel more premium than typical economy class standards. I was able to get a bit of sleep, which is rare for me on long-haul flights.

Overall, I was very satisfied with Korean Air’s KE913 direct flight from Incheon to Madrid. From the comfortable Dreamliner cabin to the well-prepared meals and professional service, the experience was both efficient and enjoyable. If you’re planning a trip to Spain, this direct flight is an excellent choice for a hassle-free journey.
